VOICE Elderly Road Safety Awards

VOICE Awards for the safety of older people on EU roads have been given to Malta (positive) and Portugal (negative). Malta has the lowest rate of elderly road deaths in the EU: 6.9 per 100,000 of the elderly population. On the contrary, Portugal is at the top with 42.9 road deaths per 100,000 among older people. These data have been recently presented by the European Network for Safety among Elderly (EUNESE) and the Center for Research and Prevention of Injuries-CEREPRI.
